Gymkhana, presentation and evaluation

Today we have made a gymkhana where we had to discover codes. It has been a very interesting and attractive activity which has made me reflect on its use with elementary school children.
 
 
Then, my group and I have made a presentation on the consumption of plastic in supermarkets. In addition, we have held a debate in acadly to find out the opinion of our colleagues about those who have the power to change customs: consumers or supermarkets. Opinions have been very diverse but we have all come to the conclusion that we all have to do our part.
 
To finish the class we have evaluated our work in the project and also to our colleagues.

5/02/2020 Today we have started the class with a thinking routine called "See, think and wonder". We have gone to the playground and we have looked around us to answer the questions but taking into account that the topic was "The Universe". What can I see? I can see the Sun that is shinning. What do I think? I think that the Earth is moving around the Sun, that this planet allows vital development and the importance of gravity. What does it make me wonder? The pollution and how long the earth will survive. This thinking routine is a useful technique which can be implemented in primary as it helps students to think and reflect about real life. It was a fantastic idea to go to the playground as it was motivating and inspiring. Then, the teacher asks us to answer the following questions: Where are we? What is the Earth planet? How does the Earth look like? How can we know something about the Universe? We answer these questions

A plastic ocean

17/04/2020   T o start the class we have made an individual reflection on the film "A plastic ocean". The film is a documentary about the consumption of plastic on our planet. In it you can see how the ocean has no limits and plastic travels all over the world. In this way many animals consume plastic and the food chain is affected. Furthermore, many of them die. On the other hand, many poor communities live on plastic islands where hygiene conditions are low. Besides, these communities use plastic for cooking, which is a great health risk since it can cause respiratory problems as well as cancer. All in all, w e have in our hands a problem to solve.
